Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR)

Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR)

Introduction

Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) is an extremely important method of modern instrumental analysis, in which the nucleus of an atom with non-zero magnetic moment under the action of an external magnetic field undergoes the physical process of Seeman splitting of the spin energy level and resonance absorption of a certain frequency of radiofrequency radiation. NMR is widely used in the fields of physics, chemistry, biology, material science, etc., which can be used to analyze qualitatively the composition and structure of the material.

Working Principle

In a strong magnetic field, the atomic nuclei of certain elements and the magnetic properties of the electronic energy itself are split into two or more quantized energy levels. Absorption of electromagnetic radiation at the appropriate frequency can lead to a jump between the resulting magnetically induced energy levels. In a magnetic field, the absorption of the energy of the difference between the two energy levels of such a molecule or nucleus with nuclear magnetism that leaps from a lower energy state to a higher energy state produces a resonance spectrum, which can be used to determine the number, type, and relative position of certain atoms in a molecule.

CD BioSciences is committed to providing NMR technology services for your molecular research, metabolomics studies, and drug discovery.

Main Applications

  • Biomolecular Research

We utilize NMR technology for structure determination and functional studies of proteins, nucleic acids, and protein or nucleic acid complexes to shed light on various diseases or normal physiological processes.

  • Metabolomics Research

Metabolomics aims to provide a comprehensive qualitative and quantitative analysis of all small molecules in a cell, tissue, or organism to study the interactions of intrinsic and extrinsic factors. We offer NMR technology for detecting, identifying, and measuring metabolic molecules across the entire metabolomic chemical space. In addition, we provide unique chemical fingerprints reflecting essential functional information about the physiological state of cells through one-dimensional proton NMR spectroscopy.

  • Drug Discovery

We offer NMR analytical techniques for drug R&D to identify, characterize, and validate new impurities, degradants, and metabolites in raw materials, active pharmaceutical ingredients, formulated products, or biological samples for studies such as compound structure determination, content analysis, and impurity identification.

  • Structural Identification of Organic Compounds

Our platform possesses NMR techniques that can be used to study chemical dynamics, such as intramolecular rotation, chemical exchange, etc., as they all affect the state of the chemical environment outside the nucleus, and thus should be reflected in the spectra.

What Can We Offer?
